Austin Exploration Inc. was formed in April 1976.

Our first project was in Alaska using several helicopters to record land gravity data over the Kandik Basin. Later, we acquired gravity data in the Cordilleran Hingeline Thrust Belt across Utah.

Other early project areas included the Quachita Trend from Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Mississippi. We recorded data in the Appalachian Basin from Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee, and Virginia. The Columbia River Plateau in both Washington and Oregon were recorded next. All of these surveys are available on a non-exclusive basis.

The company conducts land gravity and magnetic surveys in the U.S. and foreign areas, both on an exclusive and non-exclusive basis. Our primary goal is to provide premium marine gravity and magnetic acquisition, processing and interpretation services.
We are currently the only contractor to offer the new ZLS Fluid Damped Dynamic Marine Gravity Meters that have no cross coupling inherent in older beam-type gravity meters.

This breakthrough technology utilizes fluid damping that gives better data, especially during bad sea conditions.

We also offer LaCoste and Romberg Gravity Meters. These data are cross-correlated to ensure the highest data quality.

ZLS Fluid Damped Dynamic Marine Gravity Meter
We have the capabilities to record marine magnetic data with the sensor towed directly behind the boat or from the air guns. We have several types of magnetometers to offer.
Austin Exploration has conducted marine surveys throughout the world, including offshore South America, Africa, Australia, Asia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Europe, Canada, Mexico, the east and west coasts of the U.S., Alaska and the Gulf of Mexico.
Our operators are highly trained and experienced. During acquisition the data is constantly monitored to provide the best possible product for our clients.
